ਡਾ. ਹੋ 1998 ਤੋਂ 2008 ਤੱਕ (Continuing Professional Development) ਦੇ ਐਸੋਸੀਏਟ ਡੀਨ ਸਨ ਅਤੇ 2008 ਤੋਂ 2015 ਤੱਕ ਫੈਕਲਟੀ ਅਵ ਮੈਡੀਸਨ ਈਹੈੱਲਥ ਸਟਰੈਟਜੀ ਆਫ਼ਿਸ (Faculty of Medicine eHealth Strategy Office) ਦੇ ਸੰਸਥਾਪਕ ਡਾਇਰੈਕਟਰ ਸਨ। ਕੈਂਡਲ (Royal College of Physicians and Surgeon’s of Canada’s Professional Development Committee) ਅਤੇ (eHealth Committee of the Association of Faculties of Medicine of Canada) ਦੇ ਪਿਛਲੇ ਮੈਂਬਰ ਸਨ। ਉਹ (World Health Organization eHealth Observatory and Pan American Health Organization Knowledge Management) ਨਾਲ ਸਹਿਯੋਗੀ ਹਨ। ਉਹ (International Association of Humanitarian Medicine) ਦੇ ਵਾਈਸ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਹਨ।
Betsy Leimbigler holds a Ph.D. in political science from the John F. Kennedy Institute, Free University Berlin, Germany. She has previously worked in various roles and institutions, including at UBC Okanagan as a postdoctoral researcher and research coordinator, at the Canadian Commission for UNESCO, and the University of Ottawa Centre on Governance. She also taught courses on policy analysis and health politics at the Free University of Berlin and Bard College Berlin. She is passionate about languages, cultures and health equity.
Karen brings extensive knowledge and experience in community-based research, specifically in nutrition and pediatric health, gained from her time at the University of Illinois and the Chinese University of Hong Kong. With a master's degree in nutrition and a bachelor's degree in Kinesiology, her passion lies in working with multicultural communities, raising awareness, and prioritizing prevention.
Having grown up in Hong Kong, studied in the United States, and currently residing in Canada, Karen understands the importance of culturally tailored health promotion and aims to bridge cultural gaps. Her expertise in participant recruitment and data collection will be invaluable to our iCON team as we gain insights into the healthcare barriers faced by the Chinese community.

Marketing & Communications Coordinator
Minika holds degrees in Marketing Management and Corporate Communications. She has 15 years of experience in marketing, communications, fundraising and event management, working for public relations agencies and non-profit organizations in both Hong Kong and Canada. Minika moved to Vancouver in 2013, most recently working with Alzheimer Society of B.C. and S.U.C.C.E.S.S. Foundation, and enjoys work-life balance here in Canada. She also believes that cultural diversity paves the way with more empathy and compassion, and to approach the world from various perspectives. “Do everything in love”.

Puloma Gupta
Research Assistant
Puloma joined the iCON team in 2023, with the aim of contributing to the community and research in an innovative way. She has a diverse research experience from working in various research labs from the fields of Clinical and Health Psychology at the UBC Department of Psychology as well as the Department of Medicine. Through her involvement as a Research Assistant and Research Study Coordinator at the Depression, Anxiety, and Stress Lab, Puloma gained valuable skillsets by working on various steps in research. Specifically at iCON, Puloma hopes to gain further experience on how to effectively bridge the gap between the community and the health partners, through the dissemination of knowledge step in research. Ultimately, Puloma shares her main goal with iCON, which encompasses caring for the community by means of translating health-related knowledge in an accessible and interesting way.

With two years of experience at South Asian Health Institute (SAHI) and an impressive six-year work in translation and interpretation, Simran brings a rare blend of expertise to her role. Her dedication to accessibility and empathy for diverse populations, nurtured through volunteer work at BC Children's Hospital, aligns seamlessly with her personal mission to break down barriers marginalized communities face in accessing healthcare. As a second-generation Punjabi Canadian from Abbotsford, Simran's passion for equity, social justice, and her research acumen position her as a committed advocate for meaningful change and inclusivity within the team.
